What is a Dental Crown?

If you have extensively and severely damaged teeth, there is a chance that you will need a dental crown. The way that you can think about a crown, is that is sits atop your tooth in order to provide some sort of protection to it. It helps your tooth retain the structural integrity that is needed for a healthy tooth to function and for a tooth to serve its purpose of chewing food. Dental Crowns are needed when the tooth along is unable to perform a basic function without falling apart, or has been repaired so many times that it is unable to retain the structure safely.

There are some other, more conservative treatments available and we can discuss these with you if you choose.
