What is a Dental Bridge?
Think about a dental bridge as a way to bridge the gap between missing teeth. The reason that bridging that gap is so important is that your teeth are always trying to shift and fill in gaps. Getting a dental bridge will prevent the teeth on either side from shifting positions and will help keep the structure of your mouth.
There is extensive treatments that may be needed if you are requiring a bridge. Because on some cases a crown will be needed to be placed on either side of the gap over the existing teeth. This could be bad to an otherwise healthy mouth.
There are other ways the fix this issue while still providing a way of bridging the gap between the teeth, one of these ways being a dental implant placed in the gap. That way that there is no other damage to surrounding teeth, but the best course of treatment will be discussed with you appointment. Different courses are better for patients of different ages.
